FMI: Dois Pesos, Duas Medidas. Ucrânia e Grécia.

Bom, FMI é também uma instituição política. Até aí, nada demais. Qualquer instituição, para mim, tem um viés político. O problema é quando não se reconhece isso.

Por que o FMI declara que irá ajudar a Ucrânia, sob qualquer circunstância, mesmo que o país não pague aos credores, mas não só ajudará a Grécia, se ela pagar aos credores?

A explicação certamente é político/militar. Mas será que a Cristina Lagarde (foto acima), chefe do FMI, vai explicar a contradição?

Eu não teria nenhum problema se ela dissesse que ajudará mais a Ucrânia porque o país está em guerra coma Rússia. Mas ela diria isso e enfrentaria a fúria russa e também a fúria grega?

IMF says can continue to support Ukraine even if debt deal not reached

WASHINGTON, JUNE 19

Ukraine's efforts to strike a debt restructuring deal with its creditors will allow the International Monetary Fund to continue to support the country even if the talks are not successful, the head of the IMF said on Friday.

"I ... welcome the government's continued efforts to reach a collaborative agreement with all creditors," IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde said in a statement. "This is important since this means that the Fund will be able to continue to support Ukraine through its Lending-into-Arrears Policy even in the event that a negotiated agreement with creditors in line with the program cannot be reached in a timely manner."
